My story

I write and teach for people who have noticed something and want to find out whether it holds up.

Not belief, and not debunking.

Everything I do takes the position that your own experience is data worth collecting properly — that if you write down what happened, separate it from what you decided it meant, and look at the record again six months later, you learn something either way.

The tools are unglamorous: a pen, a date, and the discipline to keep going when nothing seems to be happening.

I knew about energy long before I had any words for it. Reiki came later, at the same time I was training and licensing as a massage therapist — so I learned it with my hands already on the body, finding out what tissue does, and where the physical actually ends.

Since then it has mostly been my own practice. Self-treatment, a lot of study, and years of sitting with one question: what am I actually noticing, and how would I know if I were wrong?

That question comes from my other work. I spent twenty years in behavior analysis, which trains you to watch what people actually do rather than what they say they do, and to trust the record over the story. Those two things turned out to belong together.

That’s why the work starts with the body. It’s the instrument you’re using, and everything you notice arrives through it.
