Practice, in your pocket

The academy teaches you to test things rather than take them on faith. That works better when the tool is already in your hand at the moment you need it. These are built for the moments the practice actually happens. Recall is won in the ninety seconds after waking. Divination works when the question is fresh. Our apps exist for the moments the academy can’t be in the room with you.

Recall is won in the ninety seconds after waking. That’s the whole problem with dream journals — by the time you’ve found the notebook and the pen, the thing you were trying to keep has already gone.

This is the notebook that’s already open. Voice or text, one tap from the lock screen, before you’ve properly woken up.

Four layers, not one meaning

Most dream apps hand you a symbol and a definition, as though a snake means the same thing to everyone who has ever dreamed one. Daily Dreamer reads a dream at four levels — what happened, what it echoes from your waking life, what it’s asking of you, and where it sits in a longer arc. You get four readings and decide which ones hold up. That’s the point.

Two lenses you won’t find elsewhere

Waking Life traces a dream back to the days around it – the argument, the deadline, the thing you didn’t say. Most early dream content turns out to be about yesterday, and seeing that clearly is what stops people over-reading their dreams.

Soul’s Journey looks the other way, across months, at the images that keep returning when nothing in your week explains them.

It gets better the longer you use it

A single dream is nearly unreadable. Forty dreams is a body of evidence. The app tracks recurring figures, settings and symbols across your whole record and shows you the patterns you’d never spot one entry at a time.

Built by someone who does this

Jody Randall has been lucid dreaming for over fifty years and runs two or three vivid lucid dreams most nights. She wrote The Oneironauts’ Handbook and originated the YANGU™ Method. The interpretation in this app follows the same approach we teach at the academy – you are given a reading and asked to check it, not told what your dream meant.

Free tier:
Unlimited dream capture, voice or text, and the symbol library.

$4.99 a month:
Four-layer interpretation, both lenses, pattern tracking across your full record, and export.

the grand man divination deck

The Grand Man Divination Deck – Coming Soon to Google Play Store

Most oracle decks are a set of moods with a booklet attached. This one has a structure underneath it, and the structure is the point.

Fifty-six beings, in seven ranks of eight

Chohans, Elder Masters, Feminine Masters, Archangels, Cosmic Beings, Higher Devas, and the Elemental Rulers. Seven groups of eight, drawn from the same Theosophical literature the academy teaches from – Blavatsky, Leadbeater, and Bailey’s earlier work – and set alongside figures from living traditions that are named as their own rather than absorbed.

The architecture isn’t decoration. Where a card sits in the ranks tells you something about how to read it.

Three readings, not one meaning

Every card carries three sections, and they answer different questions.

About is who this being is and what it means when they surface. Sourced, not invented.

Waking Life is what to do about it before Friday. A conversation to have, a boundary to set, something to finish or abandon. Concrete and near-term.

Soul’s Journey is the long arc – the quality being built, the pattern beneath the week. Slower, and meant to be sat with rather than acted on.

You are never told what your card meant. You are given three angles and left to work out which one is describing your situation.

A hidden layer for anyone who goes looking

Each being carries a ray attribution, and so do the classical planets. When a card lands on a planet in the planetary spread, those two either agree or they don’t – and the reading changes accordingly. Will applied where discernment was needed reads differently from will applied where will was called for.

That’s a mechanic, not a metaphor. It produces meaning the cards couldn’t give you on their own. Most readers will never notice it. The ones who do will find the deck has more in it than they thought.

Where the disagreements are kept

The sources contradict each other – about which ray a being carries, about whether two names describe one figure or two. Where that happens the card says so rather than quietly picking a side. Same position the academy takes everywhere else.

Free:
Single card pull, with About and Waking Life. Two saved readings.

$0.99, once:
Every card in full – all three sections. Past, Present and Future three-card pulls. Unlimited saved readings.

Planetary spread, for a full life audit, in a later update.

The physical deck
Cards, box, booklet and reading cloth, once the app has found its footing. The booklet carries the full system – the ray layer, the spreads, and why the three sections exist.

Solar Biology

Solar Biology – Coming Soon to Google Play Store

In 1887 an American occultist named Hiram Erastus Butler published a book that quietly changed how the whole world talks about astrology, and almost nobody remembers his name.

Before Butler, casting a chart meant birth time, birth place, houses, rising signs, aspects between planets – hours of work and a professional to do it. Butler threw most of it out. He kept the Sun and Moon by sign, used the planets only by the sign they occupied, and ignored the angles entirely. What was left needed nothing but a date of birth and a lookup table.

That simplification is the ancestor of every “what’s your sign” conversation since. Butler went further than the modern version, though: sun and moon gives 144 combinations rather than twelve, which is a good deal more specific than a newspaper column.

What the app does

Butler’s system was built to be simple. The problem is that the tables aren’t – 126 pages of them in the original, and looking yourself up means finding an ephemeris and cross-referencing by hand.

The app does that part. You give it a birth date. Nothing else – no time, no place, no coordinates. It returns your solar and lunar signs, your polarity, and the character and constitutional reading Butler set out for that combination.

What it isn’t

Butler called his method scientific. It isn’t, and we won’t pretend otherwise. It’s a nineteenth-century system of character delineation with a devoted following and a real internal logic, and it’s interesting on those terms without needing to be more than it is.

We also don’t reproduce all of it. Butler wrote at length about marriage suitability and about women’s constitutions in terms that were ordinary in 1887 and are not ordinary now. Where the original doesn’t hold up, we say so rather than passing it along.

Why the academy built it

Butler sits in the same current as the rest of what we teach – American esoteric writing of the 1880s, contemporary with Blavatsky, working the same question of how the invisible expresses in the visible. His twelve signs are functions of the body before they’re personality types, which is closer to The Dense than to a horoscope.

The text has been public domain for over a century and is freely readable online. What hasn’t existed is a way to actually use it.
